Seven Members of Congress Amplifying the "Data Privacy" Narrative

June 9, 2021EdgeTheory

Over the past 30 days, the data privacy narrative has been amplified by seven congressional members across six unique narratives.

The seven amplifiers include: Sen. Edward Markey (D-MA)Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL); Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN); Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX); Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA); Rep. Lori Trahan (D-MA); and Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL). As of Wednesday morning, the leading narrative trends associated with the data privacy narrative include privacy protectionchildren and teens, and attorneys general. These narrative trends are reflected in the individual narratives amplified by congressional members. The majority of these narratives relate to either Facebook’s teen-friendly Instagram platform or foreign adversary’s collection of Americans' data.
