Former USSOCOM Director of Strategic Influence and Information Operations joins EdgeTheory to help expand decision-ready Narrative Intelligence capabilities for government and industry.
OXFORD, MS — EdgeTheory today announced the appointment of Colonel John Wilcox (U.S. Army, Ret.) as Vice President of Operations, further strengthening the company's leadership team as demand for Narrative Intelligence continues to grow across government, defense, and commercial markets.

Wilcox joins EdgeTheory following a distinguished 27-year career in U.S. Army Special Operations, culminating in his role as Director of Strategic Influence and Information Operations at U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Throughout his career, he led information, influence, Psychological Operations, and Civil Affairs activities supporting Special Operations across five Theater Special Operations Commands and more than 80 countries.
Wilcox first joined EdgeTheory through the U.S. Department of Defense SkillBridge Program, where he quickly became a trusted member of the leadership team. During his fellowship, he helped strengthen customer engagement, refine operational execution, and advance the National Center for Narrative Intelligence.
As Vice President of Operations, Wilcox will oversee enterprise operations while expanding strategic partnerships across the defense, intelligence, and national security communities. His experience translating complex mission requirements into practical capabilities aligns directly with EdgeTheory's mission to help organizations understand, measure, and act within today's contested information environment through decision-ready Narrative Intelligence.
“John has spent his career helping organizations understand and operate within complex information environments where influence, perception, and decision-making determine outcomes,” said Joe Stradinger, Chief Executive Officer of EdgeTheory. “That experience aligns perfectly with our mission. As organizations increasingly recognize Narrative Intelligence as a strategic capability, John’s operational leadership and deep understanding of information operations will help us accelerate innovation, strengthen customer success, and continue advancing the field.”
Wilcox's appointment reflects EdgeTheory's continued investment in building the leadership, technology, and operational expertise required to advance the emerging discipline of Narrative Intelligence. His experience at the highest levels of Special Operations strengthens the company's ability to help organizations detect, assess, and respond to the narratives shaping today's information environment.
