Ford’s release of the F-150 Lightning, an electric version of the automotive firm’s classic pickup truck, has propelled the narrative electric vehicles among both the U.S. media and congressional members. As of Friday morning, 73 congressional members have amplified more than 100 unique narratives related to electric vehicles over the last 30 days. The top individual amplifiers of unique narratives associated with electric vehicles include Rep. Andy Levin (D-MI) and Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY). Levin, a Democrat from Michigan, has largely amplified positive content related to Ford and the electric vehicles narrative, while Barrasso, a Wyoming Republican, has amplified content that is critical of the Biden administration’s infrastructure and environmental policy positions.
