On Tuesday, June 8, ProPublica published an article titled, “The Secret IRS Files: Trove of Never-Before-Seen Records Reveal How the Wealthiest Avoid Income Tax,” According to the article written by Jesse Eisinger, Jeff Ernsthausen, and Paul Kiel, “ProPublica … obtained a vast cache of IRS information showing how billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Warren Buffett pay little in income tax compared to their massive wealth — sometimes, even nothing.” An in-depth Kudzu analysis reveals U.S. media sources have amplified the ProPublica narrative at a rate of 2.34 amplifications per hour, totaling at least 115 amplifications as of Thursday morning.
